It’s Been A Long Day.
I have been having the worst two days trying to rework this site. First, I couldn't figure out how to resize the fonts. I pulled my hair out and finally wound up doing a few strange things with the HTML editor. (I copied my WordPad stuff into the HTML editor, instead of directly to the Post editor. I couldn't figure out how to make the fonts work right otherwise.) Then my sidebar wouldn't show up and I couldn't figure out why (something to do with too many font tags or something).
Finally I got everything figured out and even got some work done on the stylesheet. (I don't like tiny print on my site.) All of the sudden I got it into my head to log out of my WordPress account. Big mistake. After I logged out, I couldn't log back in. I could not find my account information anywhere. I would've been fine if I'd have had my username. Unfortunately, I'd used an obscure spelling of my first name as my username and couldn't remember it. I tried everything. Finally, I was sure I would find my username attached to an e-mail welcoming me to WordPress. No such e-mail exists. I was completely lost. Finally, at about 7:30 this evening I decided to chuck everything, copy and paste my posts to a WordPad document and uninstall WordPress.
Needless to say I'm deeply depressed. I had so much work done and now I have to do it all over again.(Guess what I found five minutes after I did that. Of course, you're right. I found my username on a form when I went to re-sign up at WordPress. I hadn't even thought to look there. Jeesh.) Anyway, I'm going to start copy/pasting all of my old posts (all 6 or 7 of them) to this new blog and re-re-editing the fonts and stylesheet as I go. I might be done by Valentine's day. Maybe.
