“King George is a tyrant, whether we say so or not. We might as well say so.”
The title of this post is a quote from one of my favorite plays/movies, "1776". I think it is very appropriate for this day and age. Many of the people who are in government at this time are tyrants and if we keep letting them rule then they will rule forever. I think it might be time for a new "Declaration of Independence" ( the thing that the above quote refers to ). All the Democrats and all the Republicans who can't stand this regime anymore ( and there are plenty of those at this point ) should get together, find a middle ground that they all can take a stand on and let all these tyrants know that they will not be allowed to lead us anymore. These people should start an investigation and not stop. For the next three years every tyrant in government should have a well-founded fear that they could be ousted -- politically and legally -- at any moment. As many people as need to should go directly to jail ( not passing go, not collecting their usual checks ) and everybody else should be kicked out of politics and humiliated with as much truth as possible.
So, those in power, those who are abusing their powers, should take these words of Thomas Jefferson to heart:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
They should know that "the People" remember these words and know exactly what they mean. We are American's after all and that is supposed to mean freedom (Liberty). We will not let tyrant's rule!
(Ehem! Pardon me. But I get a little outraged when my Liberty is threatened.)
